Munich and Los Angeles, June, 27th 2016 – Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company, and Studio 100 Film, international feature films sales agency and subsidiary of Studio 100 Media, have entered into an exclusive film deal to distribute new animated feature BLINKY BILL: THE MOVIE in North America. Produced by Studio 100’s Sydney based animation studio, Flying Bark Productions, BLINKY BILL: THE MOVIE features an all-star voice cast of Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Rufus Sewell (The Man in High Castle), Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine), David Wenham (Lord Of The Rings), Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge, Maya the Bee-Movie), Robin McLeavy (Hell on Wheels), Barry Otto (The Great Gatsby) and Barry Humphries (Finding Nemo). The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; and CEO of Studio 100 Media, Patrick Elmendorff.

Shout! Factory has secured exclusive North American distribution rights to BLINKY BILL: THE MOVIE, including theatrical, broadcast, video-on-demand, digital and home entertainment rights for cross-platform releases. Shout! Factory plans a strategic launch of this movie across multiple entertainment platforms through Shout’s kids & family entertainment imprint, Shout! Factory Kids.

Blinky Bill is one of Australia’s most recognized characters and a bona fide icon. The lovable antics of the mischievous koala have captured the hearts of millions since the release of The Adventures of Blinky Bill book series in 1933. In 1992, the first feature film Blinky Bill, The Mischievous Koala was released in major territories. This was followed by several successful TV series and movies which continue to air around the world today.

BLINKY BILL: THE MOVIE feature film synopsis
Blinky Bill (voiced by Ryan Kwanten) is a little koala with a big imagination. An adventurer at heart, he dreams of leaving the little town of Green Patch and following in his missing father’s footsteps. Mr. Bill went missing in the Outback some time ago and Blinky is the only one who believes his father is still alive. When Blinky discovers a mysterious marker that hints at his dad’s whereabouts, he embarks on a journey that takes him beyond the boundary of Green Patch and into the wild and dangerous Outback. He quickly makes friends with Nutsy, a zoo koala, and Jacko, a nervous frill-necked lizard. Pursued relentlessly by a vengeful cat who has a personal score to settle with Blinky, the trio must learn to work together if they ever want to survive the rugged Australian landscape and find Blinky’s father!
